Even from the image, the flooding is bad enough as it is. For all those who are affected, this isn't exactly the ideal way to spend your New Year at all.

           "Yo bro, let's go crash your house tonight!"

           "Sure! Come by later by 7 pm."

           This clearly isn't the conversation that went down in this situation, but it gives you the picture of just how bad things could be if it actually happened to you. Having the whole of Selangor displaced wouldn't be good for anyone, except perhaps the fishes.

            Point is, such a major problem shouldn't have to be so close to home to actually show to us just how bad such a situation would actually be. It shouldn't have to appear in your newspapers for days and weeks for you to actually start acknowledging it as a major matter.

            Notice how our neighbouring countries had no hesitations in providing the flood victims with food and necessary living supplies. The fact that these kind of floods, or any major issue for that matter reaches our neighbouring countries ears, but yet when it happens to them we don't hear anything about it except maybe a tiny write up of it on a minor column in a newspaper is a major issue. While it's true the internet can provide us with the information we need, our newspapers should be covering major issues outside of our country, as other countries do. If we need to extend a helping hand, there would be a much larger force to help the people in distress.

            Put simply, while this flooding is indeed unfortunate, you have to remember that such disasters happen all over the world. And just because it's not your own country, doesn't mean you shouldn't care about it.

            As is clear, I did not provide any factual evidence or even a shred of actual information regarding the flood. Not even the date. So the compensation with my own personal opinion will have to do.
